Before stepping into academic leadership, Virgena worked as a Certified Medical Assistant in hematology, where she supported complex clinical procedures and mentored new professionals entering the field. After earning her GED, she began her career as a mail carrier in Delaware County. There, she quickly mastered the demands of the role and demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. This early experience highlighted her ability to thrive in new environments and prepared her for the next chapter of her career.

Human services leadership

Driven by a passion for service, Alana transitioned into the Human Services field in 2019, joining Elwyn as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). Over the course of four years, she advanced into a supervisory role, where she led teams, administered client services, and ensured that support was delivered with responsibility, compassion, and timeliness. In this role, she strengthened her leadership, organizational, and communication skills while consistently fostering positive outcomes for clients and their families.

Continued growth

Alana embraces the dynamics of innovation and values collaboration, always seeking opportunities. She then attended college, where she pursued her degree and expanded her knowledge to make meaningful contributions to her work. With a strong foundation in Human Services, she has also pursued growth in the field of drug and alcohol services, interviewing, and counseling. She currently serves as the Executive Administrator at Solution Allied Healthcare Institute and the Executive Assistant at Solution On Call Services. Her goal is to apply her critical thinking, analytical skills, and compassionate approach to strengthening relationships with clients, caregivers, and her community, while continuing to develop her expertise and professionalism within the field.
